Since April 2023, this country has been melting before the eyes of the world: cities are being wiped off the map, massacres are being buried without witnesses, millions of people are fleeing in search of a less deadly life, and yet no global voice is raised to stop the disaster. Why? Because Sudan has simply been put off the radar...deliberately.
Sudan has no lobby to protect it, no economic power to give it weight, and no easy media narrative to sell to Western audiences.
The UAE pumped money and weapons to support the RSF through complex smuggling routes through Libya and Chad, while Russia exploited the chaos to grab Sudan's gold through Wagner's networks, turning it into a funding lung for its wars and expansion in Africa.
On the other hand, the United States and Europe were content with cold diplomatic statements, because they consider Sudan a "security issue" that is not worthy of political investment.
While Ukraine made headlines, Sudan remained trapped in darkness. No cameras, no stories, no global sympathy. A tragedy of this magnitude, but no light... because the light itself was subjected to the equation of interests.
